My Story

When I started riding at age 10, I knew horses would be a lifelong passion. I’ve always been eager to learn, work hard, and take on any challenge in the saddle. Whether developing a young prospect, fine-tuning a seasoned competitor, or adjusting my ride to bring out the best in each horse, I thrive on the adaptability and dedication that equestrian sport demands. My goal is to continue competing at a high level while being part of a Division I collegiate team that challenges me as both a student and an athlete.

Equestrian Experience & Achievements

I began my riding journey under Terri Young, spending my first year on school horses, where I developed strong fundamentals in equitation and horsemanship. At age 12, I took a big step forward when my parents bought me Remi, an Off-the-Track Thoroughbred. Together, we developed into a competitive pair in the hunter ring, and in 2022, Remi was named MHSA Horse of the Year for the 3’ division.

As my passion for training and developing horses grew, I became a working student for Sue Lyman, where I took on my next challenge—Ghibli de Montfort, a talented but green horse with no prior experience in the hunters or equitation. I helped her progress into a competitive show horse through patient training and dedication.

I’ve had the privilege of riding with some incredible trainers, including Terri Young, Sue Lyman, Kristin Mangum, Andrea King, and now Peter Foley at Woodhall Farm. Each experience has shaped me into the well-rounded and adaptable rider I am today. I take pride in my ability to confidently ride a wide variety of horses, from young and green mounts to sensitive Thoroughbreds and polished show hunters.

Academic & Community Involvement

Outside of riding, I am an honor roll student at Paul VI High School, where I challenge myself academically while balancing my riding commitments. Managing both school and my equestrian career has helped me develop strong time-management skills and a determined work ethic—both of which will serve me well as a student-athlete in college.

I’m also passionate about giving back to the equestrian community. I volunteer at Sprout Therapeutic Riding and Ohana Equestrian Reserve, helping individuals with disabilities experience the joy of riding. Additionally, I spent nine months working at NOVA Equestrian’s horse rehabilitation center, where I gained valuable hands-on experience in equine care and recovery.

Life Outside of Riding

I live on my family’s farm in Aldie, VA, where I help care for my horses and the retired horses that call our farm home. My upbringing has taught me the importance of responsibility, discipline, and a deep respect for horses beyond the show ring.

I come from a close-knit family—my sister Emma attends the University of Alabama, and my sister Molly is a student at the University of Kentucky. Watching them navigate college life has made me even more excited for my journey, where I hope to find a team that will push me to grow both in and out of the saddle.

After college, I plan to pursue a career in nursing or business marketing, two fields that, much like riding, require adaptability, problem-solving, and a strong work ethic.

Why Me?

I am a team-first rider who is eager to take on any challenge, whether that means adjusting my style to fit different horses or contributing to a competitive collegiate team. My experience developing green and young horses, my academic dedication, and my commitment to the equestrian community make me an asset to any program. I look forward to the opportunity to bring my skills, passion, and hard work to a Division I equestrian team that will help me reach my full potential as both a rider and a student.
